Sundowner at the tower: wine at sunset

Relaxed summer evenings with views, wine and picnics – that is the promise of the popular Sundowner series from Wein vom Roten Hang e.V. , returning for its second season in 2026. In May, July and August , the association’s winegrowers invite you on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 6pm to enjoy a relaxed outdoor wine bar.

The historic towers of Schwabsburg and Nierstein provide the perfect setting for a summer evening with family or friends. The wine bar alternates between Schwabsburg’s Schlossturm and Nierstein’s Wartturm, both with fantastic views across Rheinhessen and the Rhine.

Bring whatever makes you happy: a picnic blanket, snacks and good company. The wines come straight from the steep vineyards of the Roter Hang: fresh, full of character and perfect for a relaxed end to the day.

No booking required. Simply come along, find a spot, raise a glass and enjoy the summer!
