Looking back: the 2026 Wine Showcase programme

The 2026 Wine Showcase took place on Friday 12 June from 5 pm and Saturday 13 June from 1 pm. Visitors can taste and enjoy outstanding wines and sparkling wines from the Roter Hang at the stands. Debit card payments are once again accepted at all wine stands. Wines reflecting their individual vineyard sites are accompanied by specialities from Hoi An Nierstein, Käsereich Esther Graebsch and the Rock’n’Roll Foodtruck.

A note about glasses: You are welcome to bring your glass from last year, or another glass with a 0.1-litre measure line. If you do not have one, glasses are available to buy for €4 (not a refundable deposit).

On Friday evening at 6 pm join us for the official opening of the showcase, with wonderful views over the Roter Hang, at Stand 4 with our committee, sponsors, local and state politicians, and the Rheinhessen Wine Royalty.

Taste & Views and Depth & Terroir

Discover our wines through two new experiences at the Roter Hang Wine Showcase:

Taste & Views invites you to relax and taste with spectacular views over the Rhine and vines, enjoying the Roter Hang right in the heart of its vineyards. Bring your favourite person and unwind with a lovely glass of wine! For the first time, all five pavilions will also offer other grape varieties in this category – for easy-going enjoyment and, where possible, at an entry price of €3 per 0.1 litre.

In Depth & Terroir the focus is on origin, soils and vineyard sites. Taste thoughtfully, compare different sites, estates and vintages, and explore the distinctive qualities of this world-famous terroir in greater depth.

We have discontinued the standard 0.05-litre tasting measure, but you can still compare wines from the Depth & Terroir range – perhaps more closely than ever. Our three-wine flight (3 × 0.05 litres for €6, including a vineyard postcard) lets you taste three wines from the same site in succession and discover how each winegrower leaves their individual signature on the wine.

Meet the Maker Wine Walks

“Deep Dive – Winegrowers’ Insights”. Experience the Roter Hang on our Meet the Maker Wine Walks: walk through the showcase with our winegrowers and discover first-hand what makes the Roter Hang so unique. From geology and vineyard work to winemaking, wine culture becomes a personal experience in the very place where world-renowned Rieslings grow. Duration: approximately one hour, including five selected Rieslings in 0.1-litre measures, for €19 per person (excluding a glass).

Riesling Lounge

On Saturday evening, 13 June, from 6 pm welcomes the return of the Riesling Lounge with DJ Chappi . Wine, food, music and moonlight promise a unique evening on the Roter Hang. Our popular caterers Spinnlers Streetfood, Mugcha – der Gute Koreaner and Soulspatzn will take care of the food.

The Wein vom Roten Hang association invites everyone to join this celebration of wine amid the beauty of nature.
